Fiction Paradox: A Sci-Fi Visual Novel Where Your Relationships Shape the Journey

The future is moving fast, but what happens when technology advances faster than humanity can keep up?

That question sits at the heart of Fiction Paradox, an adult sci-fi visual novel from indie developer Naventu. Set in 2045, the game follows a protagonist who feels trapped in an increasingly advanced world and decides to pursue a new purpose: becoming an inventor capable of changing humanity's future.

Rather than focusing exclusively on romance or adult content, Fiction Paradox is being built around a larger narrative, with its first chapter serving as an introduction to the world, protagonist, and characters who will become important throughout the story.

A Story About the Future — and the People in It

Fiction Paradox takes place in a technologically advanced world where society has changed dramatically. Yet despite that progress, the protagonist's life feels empty and without direction.

The journey introduces a variety of characters and gives players opportunities to develop relationships with them. Choices don't completely rewrite the main storyline, but they influence the bonds formed with individual characters.

That approach allows Fiction Paradox to remain relatively linear while still giving players room to shape their personal experience.

Romance With More Flexibility

One of the game's more distinctive systems is its approach to relationships.

Players can choose between a lesbian female protagonist and a straight male protagonist, while the main story remains the same. The game also supports polyamorous relationships, allowing players to pursue one character, multiple characters, or potentially everyone.

The developers are also planning additional romance options and broader character variations as development continues.

More Than a Visual Novel

At its core, Fiction Paradox is designed to work as a traditional visual novel, letting players concentrate on reading and following the story.

However, Naventu has also added occasional quick actions and light puzzles to provide some gameplay variety. There's even a built-in walkthrough that can be enabled or disabled at any point, meaning players don't necessarily need to leave the game to search for guides.

The first chapter includes more than 800 images, 17 original music tracks, over 160 sound effects, and approximately 1.5–2 hours of gameplay.

Meet the Characters

The early cast already hints at the variety of personalities players can encounter.

Diana is kind, devoted, and deeply caring, often putting other people ahead of herself. Beneath that warmth, however, are personal dreams she rarely has time to pursue.

Lu is almost the opposite. Bold, disciplined, direct, and adventurous, she doesn't easily trust people. Getting through her defenses may take considerably more effort.

Then there's Tashia, a streamer, singer, and actress who thrives on attention. With fame, money, and plenty of life experience, she isn't easily impressed.

And these are only the beginning of the game's planned cast.

A Small Indie Team With Big Plans

Fiction Paradox is being developed by Naventu, a small independent studio operating without publishers or external investors.

That independence gives the team complete creative control, but it also means future development depends heavily on community support. Naventu says it hopes to expand future chapters with additional custom artwork, music, sound effects, animated scenes, more languages, additional romance options, and eventually voice acting.

The project has already moved beyond its initial public release. Chapter 1 was released publicly in December 2025, and the developers have since continued working toward future chapters.

The latest development updates show the team working on Chapter 2, including new characters and additional content.

Where to Play Fiction Paradox

Fiction Paradox is currently in development and available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android. The game supports English, Spanish, French, and Simplified Chinese.

The developers also recommend that players primarily interested in the adult content wait for Chapter 2, as the first chapter is more focused on establishing the world and story.

Fiction Paradox is an 18+ title containing mature and sexual themes.

For indie game fans interested in story-driven sci-fi, relationship systems, and adult visual novels, Fiction Paradox is an intriguing example of a small independent team building a larger narrative one chapter at a time.
