A development update published by First Age Interactive outlines ongoing work on the in-development MMORPG Spellwoven, focusing on worldbuilding, combat systems, and dungeon design.
Spellwoven – Project Update 2.23.26
The report confirms continued construction of the game world, specifically the regions of Ondurn and Ashendale, alongside targeted development of the human starting town Ironhaven and the dungeon Gravandark. Work is centered on player progression systems, including quests, itemization, and both solo and group gameplay loops intended to reduce reliance on repetitive grinding.

Combat systems are identified as the primary development priority. The developer states that broader game expansion is being deferred until combat mechanics are refined. Current implementations include multi-phase boss encounters and adaptive enemy behavior systems that respond dynamically to player status effects such as debuffs or healing attempts.

Additional systems under development include multi-weapon loadouts, allowing players to switch between two weapon sets in real time, and expanded dungeon mechanics within Gravandark. The dungeon now includes multiple floors with level-based difficulty segmentation, interactive elements such as locked cells requiring specific keys, and boss encounters with unique mechanics.

The update documents the addition of 21 quests tied to the dungeon and surrounding areas, including faction-based progression and access to systems such as the Arcane Forge, which is required for higher-tier crafting and guild advancement. A progression model is described in which players acquire “T1 End Game” items to prepare for subsequent gameplay tiers.
New gameplay mechanics include a demolition system enabling players to break dungeon walls using tools with durability constraints, as well as planned instanced dungeon modes designed to support both solo and group play.
The developer indicates that production may slow due to external workload constraints but confirms the addition of collaborators contributing to writing and creative direction. Plans for a public Discord community and future testing phases are referenced but not yet deployed.
